Gettysburg, PA 17325

Take a journey back in time to World War II and examine two POW camps in the Gettysburg area. View the mountain-top Pine Grove Furnace Camp (now part of Michaux State Forest), an interrogation facility, where thousands of German and Japanese prisoners were questioned in an attempt to learn about the Axis war effort and the development of new weaponry. Another camp, located on the Gettysburg battlefield in McMillan Woods, served as a work camp, where prisoners were assigned to work on farms, in orchards and canning factories.

Antigoni Ladd and Tara Wenzel will provide this illustrated tour of little-known facilities that used abandoned CCC camps, converting them to WWII service.

Antigoni Ladd is CEO of Tigrett Leadership Academy and a Board member of Adams County Historical Society. Tara Wenzel is a retired Department of Defense Master Instructor and currently conducts tours on WWII in Gettysburg.

Tickets are free for ACHS members and $10/general admission. Reserve your tickets here: https://tinyurl.com/372ay5uw
